All Brands of Hearing Aids

At The Audiology Place, our independence means you’re never limited to one brand or style of hearing aid. Unlike retail chains owned by manufacturers, we have the freedom to fit devices from all major brands, ensuring the solution is tailored entirely to your hearing needs, lifestyle, and budget. Whether you need the latest rechargeable technology, a discreet invisible aid, or a robust device for active living, we provide unbiased advice and expert fittings so you get the right hearing aid for you – not the one a company wants to sell.

What to Expect

When you visit The Audiology Place, you can expect a warm welcome and expert care from the moment you step through our doors. We know that addressing hearing concerns can sometimes feel daunting, so our goal is to make the process simple, comfortable, and reassuring.

Your first appointment is a comprehensive hearing consultation that takes about 90 minutes. During this time, Dr. Signe Steers or one of our experienced audiologists will take the time to understand your hearing history, lifestyle, and any challenges you’ve been experiencing. We’ll then perform a series of advanced diagnostic tests in our soundproof rooms, including pure tone audiometry, speech testing, tympanometry, and, if required, otoacoustic emissions (OAEs). These tests help us build a detailed picture of your hearing health and pinpoint exactly what is happening.

If wax is present, we can safely remove it using microsuction – a quick, gentle, and pain-free method performed by trained audiologists. If a hearing loss is detected, we’ll explain your results clearly, answer your questions, and discuss all your options. As an independent clinic, we are not tied to any one brand of hearing aid, providing you with access to a wide range of technology from all major manufacturers.

We also provide fittings using real-ear measurements (REM) and other evidence-based techniques to ensure your hearing aids are precisely matched to your ears and listening needs. Importantly, your care does not stop after the fitting. We offer ongoing support, adjustments, and counselling to make sure you get the best long-term benefit and remain confident in your hearing.

At The Audiology Place, you can expect thorough diagnostics, personalised recommendations, and genuine care – all designed to help you stay connected and enjoy life to the fullest.

Looking for a pensioner hearing test on Sydney’s Northern Beaches? At The Audiology Place in Forestville, we offer gentle, thorough assessments tailored for seniors. Led by Dr Signe Steers (Audiologist), our independent clinic provides pensioner-friendly care in sound-treated rooms, using evidence-based methods to check not just how soft you can hear, but how well you understand speech in real-world noise. If you’re noticing the TV creeping up, missing parts of conversations, or feeling more isolated, a seniors hearing test is a simple first step that can make a big difference.

Eligible holders of a Pensioner Concession Card (and some DVA cardholders) may access fully subsidised pensioner hearing tests and subsidised hearing aids through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (HSP). We’re HSP and Medicare registered, and we’ll help you confirm eligibility and handle the paperwork. You don’t need a GP referral to book a hearing test with us, though in some cases a referral may allow a Medicare rebate—ask our team and we’ll guide you on the best pathway.

Your pensioner hearing assessment includes otoscopic ear health checks, pure-tone and speech testing (including speech-in-noise where appropriate), and clear, easy-to-read results on the day. If hearing aids are recommended, we fit all leading brands independently, using real-ear measurements to ensure your devices are precisely tuned to your prescription. We also provide microsuction ear wax removal when needed and offer ongoing follow-up so your hearing stays comfortable and clear over time.

We’re local, friendly, and easy to reach from Forestville, Killarney Heights, Frenchs Forest, Belrose, Davidson, Roseville and Chatswood. If you’re searching for a free hearing test for pensioners*, or simply want expert advice you can trust, book with The Audiology Place today and hear the difference an independent clinic makes. *(Free for eligible clients under the HSP; our team can check your eligibility in minutes.)
